Ugh, I could only get out for the last hour or so...I got out there, and within 10 minutes the wind had shifted directions and  died down to nearly nothing...it was pretty frustrating....I got a few doing exactly the opposite of what I had planned on doing....without the wind pounding the weedbeds, I found no cooperation and ended up dragging a football jig down at 20-35 ft, which saved the night.....at least I wasnt cold.

So,Denesox - how'd you do last nite?

I've had my best night late fall walleye fishing in SE WI fishing a windblown bay when the wind was howling. But I've also had a few miserable fishless nights fishing windblown shorelines when it was cold damp and windy....But I do sometimes think "I should be out there" when it's a good windy night in November.

Like denesox said, the wind is important. It was windy this weekend when I went fishing, and I was in my kayak at the swamp lake. I found a bunch of crappie as well as a few bass and a nice pike.

I gotta say, the number one most important thing for great fall fishing is wind...the more the better.....its blowing hard today and I cant wait to get out there!!

Made it out 2 saturdays ago but wind was brutal.  Caught 1 nice smallmouth and missed 2 before being blown off the lake.

Went back out this past Saturday with my neighbor.  I got 4 nice bass and he got 9!  We had a fun morning.  Really glad the wind was very slow and not as bad as the forecast was for it.  Pleasurable trip to end my boating season.  All now winterized so the fish are out there for you if you go.
Still hitting well on large shiners.  Sort of having 2nd thoughts about taking the boat to storage so early.

Nice going Jaybee!! Wish I could have joined you this evening.  There is still time to get some nice fish in next few weeks.  Find the thickest green weeds you can find, and night time for walleyes shallow is definitely great this time of year.  I am going to start fishing more and posting more in the next year.  Good to see Denesox is still around, I know where some Hybrids are if you up for a drive this winter D.

Fish are still biting, needed to use light-bite bobbers to see the "hits" though.  10 to 14 ft of water,  temp was 49 degrees,  used Gulp and 1/32 Oz jig with #10 hook. Fished in a very small north side bay. Bite was really tough till 430 pm, then it picked up.

Got out with the Legendary Bass Abductor.  Although the water is frigid, he was ripping spinnerbaits at mid-summer speeds, catching beautiful smallmouth 17 to 20 inch. I was finnessing a swimbait and only caught a pike and a largemouth.  Was not shocking for me. In the past I've seen him rip cranks thru 40 degree water and outfish my live shiners! Anyway,  the last hour we found a bunch of crappie,  all different sizes, from 5 inch to 14 inch, all in the same little spot. Kept a few for the pan

Just incase anyone is wondering.  I checked the water temp with the fish hawk today and had 55 degrees from surface to 60 foot.
