Got back out this past Saturday.  Fish bit well from dawn til 10:00 then died.  We got only 2 more fish from 10:30-Noon.
Lots of smallmouth.  1-20" and 2-19" and rest running 18"-19".  Picked up a fat 16" largemouth on a shiner as well.

I got out this past Wednesday.  Did well on smallmouth bass.  Biggest was 19".  Using large shiners in 20'-25' depth.
Fun when we had 2 on at one time and got both in the net.  Hitting aggressively so don't let them take the bait too long.  Best action was right at dawn.  Used circle hooks.  Wind is my big enemy this time of year.  Can't always fish where I want to go.  The wind dictates the spot.  When do we get indian summer?

JB:

I looked on the DNR webpage and i see no Waukesha co lakes at 500 acres closest I saw was 470 Little Muskego?

Which Ive gotten nice crappies out there in the olden days but nothing of that caliber.

The Bass and Pike are still biting after the rain and cold. The afternoon did start slow, but when the sun came out and the wind calmed down, I found some that were willing to bite just before dusk. I was using baitmate on a jig and crawfish plastic. They all were on weed lines, but in shallower than I thought they'd be.

Couldn't figure out a discernible pattern. Couldn't keep fish on the hook. I did land a few fish including a nice pike, but overall, it was a frustrating day in the swamp lake.

Got out on a 500 acre Waukesha County lake mid afternoon after work, everybody was heading off the lake, weather was blowing  in. I got lucky,  the first storm blew by to the north,  found a big school of crappie in 14 ft of water.  Nice to have sonar on my fishing kayak, I can search for schools and anchor almost right on top of them without scaring the school off. Bought in 15- 10.5 to 12.75 thick fish in 2 hs. Then another storm came, got drenched for only 4 min, no lightening, so lucked out there too. Crappie took off, caught gills and perch after that, fishing till dark. Used 1/32 Oz jig and gulp micro minnows 10 ft under bobber with my 10 ft crappie rod

I went after bowfin in a swampy lake/pond with a hula popper. I caught several bass that way, but had to switch to cutbait to find the bowfin.
