Took my friend out this morning. We hit the shores of the Corridor on the Wisconsin River in Stevens Point at 630 am. Had a fish on within about 10 minutes. By 730 we had a one man limit of 10. We used both cheese and blood power punch. I won’t give the Catitude play by play, but the cats definitely preferred the cheese. We kept fish until we coul no longer close the lid of his cooler… combined that turned out to be 15 fish. He said that is plenty. We then trekked back to the vehicle. Fished a total of about 2 hours… not a bad morning.
Catfished the Fox River by Berlin Friday afternoon on into the night. Caught four cats, a 3, 6, 7 and 8 pounders all on cut suckers. Kept one for dinner. I switched to live baits at dark hoping to lure a flattie into biting but there was none to be had...

Late report from yesterday. Finally got a day off work and a small break in the honey do's, so decided to take my son fishing for cats on the Fox. We were up near Big Bend. First time ever fishing there. Water was very low in spots, but we wiggled our way down the river and settled on a couple of catty looking spots. Only managed to catch 2, with five bites. Decent eater size channels. Triple "S" was all we used. Surprised by the lack of action judging by the fishiness of the spots. Not the "Catfish Corridor", but good enough to scratch the itch. I'll be going back before Summer is over and try for other species too.

My cousin worked at Evinrude for 40 years and can fix almost anything mechanical. About 20 years ago he told to stay away from OMC products. Parts are almost impossible to find.
I bought a 20 HP Mercury and had good luck. I now have a Yamaha 25 and so far all ok. Honda makes pretty good motors.
If I had an OMC I would try to trade it in for something more reliable.
Gonna try for some Flatheads this week. When I was in my 20's a couple buddies I was on a 9 day " up north" trip. By day 4 or 5 we were almost out of money.
I said let's head for the Miss. In 2 days we caught almost 60 pounds of Channel, Flatheads, and a few big Sheephead we sold to get enough beer and gas money to get back to Milwaukee. We caught em all about 100 yards past where those Flatheads posted last week were caught. Gonna try for some Flatheads this week.
