Monday afternoon 3 hours on Pool 8. 4 fish with 2 on blood and 2 on chicken liver. Caught a Walleye and bluegill on Chicken liver. Bluegill became chunks.

Tuesday morning 3 hours on Pool 7 produced 4 fish with 2 on blood and 2 on chicken liver.

Wednesday morning 3 hours on Pool 9 got 4 fish with one on cheese, two on blood, and one on liver. No bites on chunks at all.

Overall they seemed kind of finicky. Didn't try real hard but as Peter Gabriel says some days it's just good to enjoy the " Washing of the water".

Cats are biting well on Lake Petenwell! Fished a few hours Sunday and most of Monday. Picked up 18 beauties in 14-17 ft in the wood off of breaks. Couldn't find triple S so went with my next favorite catfish Charlie cheese dipbait. Back after them tomorrow! Good luck everyone!

Blood VS Cheese.......06:00 I pick up (we'll call him Mark) at his house, first time fishing together but met a few times before.  Headed for the Stevens Point Flowage for some bigger, for us, Catting action.  Off like a bolt of aluminum lightning to Pudgy Point.  BRUTAL....  a few taps and two fish on CHEESE!!!!!  Headed up to 11'6" log jam.  Cheese hits hard fairly quickly then idles with some bump and runs.  Blood HAMMERS screaming line and bending rods like Godzilla!!!  6# of whiskered love in the boat.  Cheese is sweating so let's put one in the boat, some cushion now.  Nothing, let's burn some gas, at a blasting 18 mph we upstream we go past proven cat grounds to the Holy Grail that was shown to me.  I'll be damned if I can find it.  Like greased lightning we hammer down stream to some familiar stomping grounds.  Cheese strikes, healthy 5-6#.   A couple non-committal taps and BLOOD lights up!!!  Not the worst showing.  6:30-11, 6 fish with a 5-6 avg.  

He said there is still a big box of it at the main office, and they have the raw materials to make it, but there are no plans to restart production.

They no longer make Power Punch.  I am fishing with the biologist who created it tomorrow morning.  I do have about 10 jars left… I’ll ask if there is any talk of a return… 

Pool 9 yesterday morning. Clear skies and no wind. Got set up 0630. 0715 caught 3 in about 15 minutes and missed a couple more bites.

Next hour and a half moved several times and no action till 0900. Caught 2 more and missed another. Fished till 10 and no more action. 2 on chicken liver, 2 on blood, and one on cheese.

This is the same area I first tried Sonny's back when it first came out sometime roughly 25 years ago. I can say I have always run out of the cheese first when both are bought at the same time. But it's always really close. Maybe 4 or 5 dips of the blood left.

So...if I had to choose only one it would be the cheese. But the blood is still better than most of the other dip baits. I did have good luck on a tub of Power Punch on the Chippewa River when I lived up there but couldn't find it anywhere after that.

August 17th 2023, the war of Triple S Blood VS Cheese rages on.  The showdown tonight between the pungent warriors was again on the Catfish Corridor.  2:30 start at Black Bridge.  Pole holders set, Blood dipped and sent.  Cheese loaded and launched.  10 minutes in and blood bows it's eyes to the river gods.  Reapply the love and send to river.  Not another peep from our whiskered friends for another 20 minutes.
Time to move on, head down stream within eyeshot of first strike.  Send cheese first get blood out also.  Cheese Pole starts dancing away, FISH ON!!!!  Cheese on the board.  Blood does a tap but stays put, launch cheese.  Blood bounces without a hookup.  Cheese starts pulling string, FISH ON!!!  Cheese fish released and blood starts stripping line fast... FISH ON!!!  Reapply both and send to front of the woodpile.  No notable fish interactions for another half hour.  Retreating back to solid catfish grounds.  Get both flavors of love in the water, 5 minutes in and cheese lights up!!!  Reapply cheese head back to the sitting rock and Cheese Pole is hammering away again, FISH ON!  Multiple tap and goes on both sides of the battle when the battle today was over after 3 hours was Cheese 5 and Blood 2,  both being hit without conviction.

Went out this afternoon to FINALLY put the Triple S Blood VS Cheese question to rest.  Armed with both pungent concoctions off to the Catfish Corridor for some experiments.  Out from 1:30-4:30 at only 2 spots.  Hit Marvin's Flat first, set up with cheese and blood.  Cheese sticks first, and again but wait blood puts one on shore.  Switch positions of poles, crickets
  Move down stream, cheese takes a crushing lead.  Cheese hit, cheese hit, blood fish on.  Blood Fish On!!!  Hit cheese, hit cheese, blood fish.  What is this????  Number 10 for a limit is a BLOOD fish to tie the game!!!!! Cheese hit, cheese hit, cheese hit ohhhhh snap BLOOD fish!!!!  Blood now in the lead rebait and send it.  Rebait cheese and send 10 minutes go by.   Cheese screams to life!!!!!   Today, dead even on fish on shore, cheese DEFINITELY got hit way more than blood.  Blood fish more aggressive bite.
