Church of Catfish was in session this morning. Took faux Litguy out this morning from 6:30-11:30 on the Wisconsin River, Stevens Point edition. Out of the gate on time passing by those musky guys in a foggy blurr. Sure felt like fall as we sprinted off to Pudgy Point. Settled in I with Triple S cheese and faux Litguy with Triple S Blood. Half hour in a tap or two, glop and glop of some delicious concoctions. Tap here tap there, CHEESE puts some arc on a rod!!!! In true Pudgy Point fashion a stout 7# cat. Reapply across the board. Tap, smack, tap done with these slackers. Off to spot 2. Anchor up and off to the races. We chose some deep water way above a jam. A cat tap to break the yap. 3 rules of a sure bite Talking, texting and tying. We cut the Cheese again, just a 4#. After a few applications of catfish cologne we went 25 yards downstream. Set up our catfish photo booth. Snap, snap, Blood bends to earths core. Just a little 4#. Reapply some love and send. Jet ski buzzes by, time is running out. Up stream we go. Followed a new trail with surprisingly deep water near some logs, settle in. Blood hammers quickly, cat is not a big fan of boating. Nice 7# that has seen some battles. Regloop across the board. Blood fired away again from the wood line, 4# in the boat. Even up. Reapply, tap, tap, tap, apply, talk and BLOOD is making a run for the wood. Nice 6# also beat up pretty good. For the morning Blood 3, Cheese 2 by 6#.

6:20 to 8:20 Friday 8/25/23. The battle of Triple S Blood VS Cheese rages on. Catfish Corridor, Stevens Point, is the battlefield again. Marvin's Flat to start the battle. Half hour and two applications and ZERO contestants on the grass for the challenge. Move down stream to the next battlefield. Slather up some cheese and send, slather up some blood at send. Literally listening to CRICKETS for ten minutes before cheese takes a bit of a dive towards center earth. Reapply both flavor profiles and launch into the bourbon colored depths of the Mighty Wisconsin River. Blood fires up in minutes, stout eater looking for a deep fryer, not your day youngster and off you go. Reapply the love that is Triple S to both contestants. Cheese accepts the challenge of evening up the score. So many single smacks that it does not matter. Cheese pulls ahead. Cheese pulls farther ahead. Blood comes back with a stout eater pull the hook and watch cheese bend over to bow to the river gods. Finish with 4 Cheese and 2 Blood
Cattin' on the Mighty Miss.
Monday afternoon 3 hours on Pool 8. 4 fish with 2 on blood and 2 on chicken liver. Caught a Walleye and bluegill on Chicken liver. Bluegill became chunks.
Tuesday morning 3 hours on Pool 7 produced 4 fish with 2 on blood and 2 on chicken liver.
Wednesday morning 3 hours on Pool 9 got 4 fish with one on cheese, two on blood, and one on liver. No bites on chunks at all.
Overall they seemed kind of finicky. Didn't try real hard but as Peter Gabriel says some days it's just good to enjoy the " Washing of the water".

Blood VS Cheese.......06:00 I pick up (we'll call him Mark) at his house, first time fishing together but met a few times before. Headed for the Stevens Point Flowage for some bigger, for us, Catting action. Off like a bolt of aluminum lightning to Pudgy Point. BRUTAL.... a few taps and two fish on CHEESE!!!!! Headed up to 11'6" log jam. Cheese hits hard fairly quickly then idles with some bump and runs. Blood HAMMERS screaming line and bending rods like Godzilla!!! 6# of whiskered love in the boat. Cheese is sweating so let's put one in the boat, some cushion now. Nothing, let's burn some gas, at a blasting 18 mph we upstream we go past proven cat grounds to the Holy Grail that was shown to me. I'll be damned if I can find it. Like greased lightning we hammer down stream to some familiar stomping grounds. Cheese strikes, healthy 5-6#. A couple non-committal taps and BLOOD lights up!!! Not the worst showing. 6:30-11, 6 fish with a 5-6 avg.
