Thanks for the help guys.  I've never come up in the fall and never really thought about working around the lake turnover.  I guess I'm unfamiliar with when the lakes go into to turnover in fall (I've read around 50 degrees) and how to tell which lakes are in turnover, and which lakes have either already done so, or haven't yet.  If water temps in the low-60's now, how long will it take with the cold front to get it cold enough?   I guess i will talk to the local bait shops too.  Thanks again for all of your help.  I'm not feeling as optimistic about this trip as I was about 3 weeks ago.

If you decide to try Enterprise, just be careful at the launch. Last time I was there the ramp was in pretty rough shape.

Temps should be around 62-64. I would try deep rocks  to shallow rocks if windy/cloudy. Enterprise is close and not a bad lake

Good morning.  We are coming up Thursday night to fish Pelican Lake thru Sunday.  1.  Anyone have the water temp?  2.  With the cold front coming, how close is the lake to turnover?  Alternatives to Pelican should the lake go into turn over during our stay?  Thanks for the help!!

Pelican has the typical cyclic crappie population.  Can be tough to locate but they are there.  Good luck!

Thanks for your input guys.  How about crappies?  I see from the surveys it may possibly be a good crappie fishery?

Egres, Pelican can be a decent walleye lake.  Not the easiest to learn or catch consistently in my experience   Your methods will work.  Put your knowledge and experience to work.  Good luck!

Pelican is a tough one to fish, especially for walleye. Don’t think it has a great population. Dynamite 🧨 might be your best bet

I am coming up to Pelican Lake the first weekend in October.  This will be my first time visiting this lake.  I tend to do most of my fishing in the Northwoods in the spring or early summer.  Any pointers on the type of fishing that works best this time of year?  I usually like to jig or slip bobber fish for Crappies or Walleye.  Not sure how this style fits on this lake, for this time of year.  Any help is greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

Fishing out of Kayak trying to stay out of the wind the other day I found some good size perch 9” plus in a pocket of reeds. Didn’t keep any but made for a fun day.
