walleywhisperer  If you can get hard evidence of such accusations, it might go a long way in court.

What kind of fish were dead?

Rumor has it, the fish kill was caused by all the run off from fertilizers and bug control in people's yards. Many people just put these chemicals down then there was a monsoon like rain for a couple hours last week.

I was over there Friday and did pretty good on the bass in the reeds on a frog. My question is what was up with all the dead fish floating and stinking along the shore in musky bay?

No walleye but caught a couple rock bass. Fished main lake points and rock bars.

Sunny 74°
Water: 60°
Weed Beds
I was up last weekend before the holiday. Water was around 61-62 degrees. Fishing wasn’t fast and furious but caught consistent throughout day. 14 smallmouth 3 muskies (all released) and 3 northern in mid 20 range and numerous bluegill and rock bass on live bait. Caught on minnows and cranks. They weren’t going after crawlers and leeches. All caught in 3-10 feet with emerging cabbage weeds and on cribs. Most action we had was in Mud Bay and in sand areas behind Antigo Island on the side of the boat launch. Caught a largemouth and several smallmouth next to shore out of reeds by a boat dock. Only saw a few walleye and nothing on rock bars unless a crib was on the rock bar.

Dead Sea, 1 small LMB.  Also way to much boat traffic. Will not fish here again soon.

Fishballs, the launches on the south and west ends are good.  Pelican has quality fish of most species.  Not an easy lake to learn or have consistent success though.  Put in your time and use the knowledge and experience you have about the species you are targeting based on the time of year and you will be rewarded.

If my reply gets lambasted, it's likely from folks not wanting others to fish "their" lake.

If you are looking to catch those species, the best advice I can give you is …. Try a different lake. Pelican is not very productive.
On a good note though, the shallow areas and rocks are well marked with buoys put out by the DNR.
