Yesterday, on at 8, off, at 3. Water 44 when we started, 49 when we left. Way too much wind, limited where we could fish. But, when the wind died, so did the fishing. Well not the fishing, but the catching got lean. Never did find the Crappies. Lots of sorting. Between the two of us, well over 200 came in to the boat, but only 25 stayed for supper. One thing I will tell you, is you can not fish with too small of a lure in the spring. The jigs I was using were About a half a gram. Took 4 of them to make 2 grams. They were had hook sizes of 10 and 12. I had to cut the one inch gulp in half, in order to hook catch them. As the day went on and the water warmed. I went to 3/4 on an inch, then the full size. Pard put on some scrubs to see if he could get bigger fish. He could not even get a bite. Went right back to the small presentation. All of our fish were caught with them. We be talking 15 bass, gills to 8 1/2, big sunfish, up to 9 1/2. If you get lucky and find some real active fish, you may be able to get away with out a bobber. But till the water hits around 57, the bobber works better. You can still pop it along the surface, but you have to stop after 2 or 3 pops and let it sit, then pop it again.
Best of luck to all. [email protected]

fished a SE lake Monday morning, water temps were cool, 43 to 45, got into one little protected bay and saw thousands of small panfish, mostly gills, but among all of those fish we caught a small crappie and a 16" LM, a bit of a surprise. also got 1 hammer handle pike in the main lake. water needs to warm up for a better bite.

Nice fish EZ.
Keep up the good work.
Edit: This thread is basically a "Bragging Board" since no specific lake is mentioned.
You're not going to post here if you got Skunked.

Had no idea you could only catch giants, and not fish of all sizes. Your guide service must be booked up for years! EZfishing guide service? Do you speak at seminars, sounds like you should! Lots of guys catch giants, we just don't need to brag about it. Also because guys like to keep, and eat the fish they catch sometimes, and most fisherman have common sense. Take a picture of the hogs, and let those giant panfish go because they're key to a good fishery. Pretty sure every fisherman wants to catch trophy fish.

fished a SE Wi water this spring. Caught 9 crappies between 13”-16”, and three gills over 9.5”. I don’t know about most fisherman but catching a bunch of over sized fish is way way more satisfying and fun than catching an untidy  amounts of 6-7.13” panfish. Just my opinion👌

On at 10, off at 3, water 47 to start, 49 when we left. Hard day, wind was a killer. Could never take my coat off. Water was cooling that wind down and you could feel the cold. Fishing sucked. They were trying to jump in the boat. But they were to small to jump high enough to get in. We must have caught over 150 fish to keep 8 crappies and 12 gills. It was crazy. One spot, sunfish, one after another. Move, gills, same way, then bass, all tiny. How tiny you ask ? May I die if I lie. One was 3 inches. How could a fish that was born last year, be that small. Along with a dozen, 4 and 5 inchers. It takes real skill, like mine to catch them that size. A little YADA YADA. Thanks Jimmy. I have talked to him on the phone in years past. He wanted to fish Crappies on Geneva. I told him, all he had to do was get to here. Would not cost him a dime, I would take him out. If I remember right, he is a retired cop. Had a nice time. Stopped at MUSKY MIKE'S in OKAUCHEE to drop off a reel for repair. Nice guy, starts giving me all kinds of great information. I am not even a customer of his. Nice time was had by both of us. A nice little shop. Best of luck to all. [email protected].
