Hard to believe the season is roughly only a month out - i've actually been noticing Tom's breaking away from the flocks in my area. No strutting or gobbling thus far that I have seen. Any one else?

Good luck to all youth hunters this weekend! A flock of hens and 3 toms have been showing up on camera pretty regularly, hopefully the little guy can get one

I was out and about today. Seen 4 separate flocks of 20 plus birds. One flock had a strutting Tom in it.

Took about a 100 mile drive Saturday morning throughout NE Wisconsin.. saw 4 different flocks, with strutters in each.. first strutting of the season for me. All located in fields with no snow cover, of course, hugging tree lines for the most part (8AM ish). only a few weeks!

I heard quite a few gobblers sounding off in the backyard this morning as I was leaving for work.. haven't seen any in a while - but they are moving in... they tend to show up in the yard right around breeding season.

Getting excited!

Have been hearing a steady dose of gobbling in the mornings.  They are not moving much conserving energy and eating buds and cones and farm waste.  Had some strutting after they ate yesterday on the neighbors land.  The group of toms I saw regularly before all this weather I was worried would not make it but they are all still alive as of yesterday.

I have seen some of each.  Saw a flock of all toms, 43 to be exact, all bachelored up in one location.  Friday saw another flock of about 25 of mixed birds.  Then on my street have a flock of 15 hens all together.  And another flock of around 12 toms all together.  I have seen zero sign of breeding.  The birds I have been watching look like they are searching for food.
