Here we go the water temperature hits 39 degrees and the crappies slide in now hopefully the weather will cooperate and they will stay in. As of now no public launch piers are in yet so I have been using the launch with the least wind the bobber and gulp was on in 6 to 8ft missed more then we caught but when they shut down we made a move and found more with the same results missing then catching. No pics phone was sitting on desk at house. The days are getting longer and warmer so the bite will only get better give me a call as the time is now.

Fun little video of before game fish season closed of catching some walleye out on geneva. They were hammering the jerkbaits. Now time to get on the crappies!

Are we wide open? Ice still floating around out in the middle somewhere? Thinkn about heading out on the boat from Linn. Any info would be fantastic. If I do get out, I will absolutely let you guys know what’s going on out there. Wonder what water temp is?

Is there any deep fish cribs or are they all in that 10 foot range and by docks? If so what depths I put my time in trying to find them just looking for depth suggestions.

How crazy breaking ice to get out 50 degrees by noon the fog was beyond Erie as I broke ice all the way out and I couldn’t see 20feet once I arrived I did a couple circles to break up ice shut down in 84 feet dropped a white tube on one rod and a widow maker and plastic tail on the other had both rods in holders when 1st trout came in and I blew the hook set. One hour later fish up and on ended up with a 37 inch laker she weighed 17lbs great release watched her swim down on the depth finder so cool. With the warm weather maybe the lake will thaw out its crappie time. If you want to get now or set up a crappie trip let me know.

Wow how crazy doing lakers in the pontoon in February while I have found them I have not unlocked their jaws but that will come as they normally like what I’m fishing with. I have had to break ice but Fontana launch is open and Williams bay was Open yesterday. Will be out chasing trout and crappies hopefully the weather will let the lake stay open and the sun keeps shining. This is what it looks like when a trout sniffs your bait.

Drove through Williams Bay just after dark last night.
Believe there were 3 boats along the east shore of the Bay
Never seem that before in February- open water.
