Monona Bay

Lots of folks out on the triangles and boat house. Fished Monona Bay around 1:30ish for about an hr. Lots of water and a bit slippery out there. Cloudy ice but I would guesstimate 5+ inches. Crappie on the 1st drop fairly shallow (4-5ish feet) then moved out to 7.5 feet and found them. Red jig and 3 spikes is what I used.

Stay dry and have fun while the ice allows us to.

Looking at bears feet the ice looked good.  With this rain I'm guessing it's sloppy on top.  I'm going tomorrow for sure.  Hoping any water on top runs into holes.  Ice was 8 to 12 inches last weekend and we haven't had the real ice killer-sunshine this week. Gonna be great.  So many holes to fish and so little time.  Hole hopping for hours...........Rat. (Pic was late ice last year)

Hows the ice holding up? ​Anyone know if it will be accessible ​tomorrow?

Don’t normally fish this but can’t be too picky with the worst and shortest ice season I can remember. Few hundred guys out there sorting through gills. Basically one after another. Enjoy while you can. Sad weather.

Squaw Bay can get a bit dicey once the warm weather comes due to the river channel. Access from one of the sewerage pumping stations on the south end typically has access but stay away from the north shore, that's where the river channel stays close to shore. Every year someone goes thru by the boat landing on the north shore by the mouth of Squaw Bay. 

Hey all, does anyone know if the ice is squaw bay will be safe for fishing on Friday after all the rain we are going to be getting today and the warm temps? i know the ice is a foot thick in most spots but how much is it going to melt today and tomorrow. will it be safe to fish on tomorrow because i plan to head out to squaw bay and fish tomorrow.

Looking to head out there Saturday after work (5pm-ish). Only question is if anyone has any success fishing around that time? Any advice is helpful. Thanks in advance!
