If boards arent there at the boat rental they would be appreciated.  Cold nights now...thinking the bay will be ok?

This afternoon there were a couple guys on the triangle and maybe two guys down by the Pk St. Shelter area. No one fishing in the area out from the canoe launch. I take that as a bad sign.

WAS OUT YESTERDAY AND ACTION WAS SLOW.  ICE SEEMED TO BE IN REAL GOOD SHAPE WITH SOME HOLES OVER 8".  SHORELINE WAS GETTING BAD BY THE ROCKS.  .  THANKS TO THE GUYS WHO PUT THE PLANK OUT OFF THE BEACH.  ALL FISH CAME ON PLASTICS.  NOT MANY PEOPLE OUT MOST WAS AROUND 25 OR SO.

There were plenty of groups on the Bay today (including children).  I did not stop to inquire about ice depth but it must still be several inches. Some open water near Brittingham shelter; shorelines with some gaps.

DID WELL YESTERDAY  MORNING UNTIL THE RAIN CAME.  AFTER THE RAIN, THE BITE SHUT DOWN.  PLASTICS AND IT DID NOT MATTER WHAT COLOR WAS USED.  KEPT 9 FOR DINNER. THE ICE WAS MELTING FAST WITH THE HIGH TEMPERATURE.  LOTS OF STANDING WATER ON THE ICE AND GETTING VERY SOFT.   SHORELINE WAS PRETTY BAD IN SOMEPLACES IT LOOKED ABOUT 3' OPEN.  PUT MY FOOT IN WHERE I CAME OFF.  6 PEOPLE WHEN I GOT OFF THE ICE.

Its over, my friend. There was barely 2 inches on U Bay yesterday and its done for the year now.  Shortest ice season in recorded history. Global warming sucks!

Fished 4.5 hours. Caught about 40 gills nothing over 7" and only 4 that I could have kept and they were small.

Moved 7-8 times waxes, plastics, etc. I fish here occasionally and the fish were smaller than usual for Monona Bay.

Ice about 8", top half white from frozen snow that melted and refroze.

Shorelines open up to a foot in many areas but still easy to get on the ice in enough spots.

Maybe 50 guys on the north triangle and 100 or so guys on the bay.
