Mississippi River Pool 9 - Genoa

Fished Tue 9-2. Very slow. 8 perch/3 guys. No one was slamming and only a few walleyes observed to the nets.

Nice day but the perch are very few and far between. 50 boats up here by the dam and only seeing an occasional perch and 1 eye all day.

Your trolling motor issue sounds like the one I had, if you haven't calibrated it recently, it may need to be calibrated again. Mine was "hunting" for position alot before calibration, after it works fine.  Hope this may help

We're off to a great start to open water season.  When you can find the fish, they're hungry and willing to eat. These pics aren't from genoa, but from yesterday. Over the next month more perch and walleyes will be heading to the dams. We had a 3 man limit of 11-13" beautiful perch in an hour yesterday. Drop shotting minnows. I've got some openings if you're looking to get out, and learn a thing or two. Thanks!
