Few hours in the boat exploring paid off!I haven't fished up this way in a couple years. Fish were absolutely stacked in deeper pools on sand. Nothing really happening on rocky areas. Landed about 35 total. 4 legals between 15 and 18 with one slot at 22 inches. Everything on plastics. Never even opened the minnow bucket!
Water temp was 34-35 degrees with very little current.
So me and a buddy fished out of nakoosa earlier this year and absolutely destroyed smallies and walleyes. We wanted to go this weekend but he wants to target muskies. Only thing is he doesn't know where everything would be right now. And I'm no help cuz I've only been there once. Anyone care to give us pointers on where to start? Not just muskies but smallies and walleyes too. Thanks.
Hit the river from Kayak from 730-1130 this morning. Pitched jigs and plastic in current edges. Caught about 35 walleyes and lost a couple mid 30’s muskies. Had 3 legals. Dark Shad body paddle tails were best. 3” caught nicer fish. 2” had much more action.
Lov em, or Hate em,12Apostles Musky club stocked 800.baby Mooski
Point flowage today, Big thanks to DNR Crew for pit tagging them all
Big thanks to all the Members who helped too, If it was up to the club we stock different species, due to genetic & other factors ,This all that's allowed, There not eating other species like you think, Fyke netting on Lake Dubay & point Flowage, shows abundances of other species , ask DNR crew up in Wausau For copy of netting survey, you will see other species are plentiful
