Bluegill are spawning in lakes and ponds throughout Central Iowa - anglers should target shorelines (2-6ft of water). Paddling anglers are also enjoying excellent river conditions right now. As of March 1 ice conditions in Central Iowa have deteriorated to where ice fishing is not recommended. For information on Central Iowa lakes and rivers contact Ben Dodd at 641-891-3795 or Andy Otting at 515-204-5885.

As of February 15 Don Williams has 7 to 9 inches of ice. There was some weak ice at the edge of the boat ramp.

Black Crappie - Fair: Crappies can be caught with wax worms on glow jigs over pallets and brushpiles on the lower half of the lake.
