Personally I currently have a nice mature drake bufflehead, and a nice drake widgeon at the taxi as we speak, just curious as to what others have at the taxidermist from the 07' season.

Thanks for the kind words Kona. Means a lot to get feedback, both good and bad. Very sorry to hear about the neck. I too, am a bow hunter before all other forms of hunting, and it conflicts with my Wisconsin hunting to the point, a rarely ever hunt here for ducks. The solace of the woods and the smell of hickory and oak leaves on the forest floor, is equally as nice as the methane from the marsh that fills our nostrils!

I have not checked this forum for awhile but am really impressed with some of the birds and pictures from the last few months.. (Pete-Pec-  You have some beatiful looking mounts and I just loved the Cinnamon teal group mount..Great job!!!)..

I gave up waterfowl hunting several years ago to focus on bowhunting and upland game birds.. Tried again this year but a neck issue (spinal stenosis) really has turned out to put the nail in the coffin on anymore watefowl hunts. Kudo's to you guys who still get into duck hunting. Hard to beat a sunrise on a marsh as you wait for ducks to buzz your dekes..

Here's a Pacific flyway limit of cinnamon teal in a dead mount. As you can tell, I like California hunting.

Well thanks guys, those kind words are exactly what makes a hobby guy, try harder on the next. After hunting season ends, I have some neat projects in my head, ready to come to fruition.

Pete,

I have not been a waterfowler for a long time but I have been a fan of beautiful taxidermist work.

Your birds are amazing. Thank you for posting.

Mike

Nice work again Pete.  Especially like how you heated and bent the primaries on the pintail and brant to give them the realistic look of wind pressure as they land.

A few recent mounts I added to my collection. Had to toss a few to make room. Black brant are stunning birds.
