Heading up to Price County tomorrow to give it a go.  Glad we went a week later this year with the snow.

Joe Fitante in Antigo does Turkeys full strut or flying. I beleive gets

$600.00 . Just had one done from him last year.  He did a good job.

Does anyone know of any noteworthy taxidermists that will do a full strut mount in northeast wisconsin? (Fox valley & surrounding areas). Price?

New to turkeys. Had a small group in range this morning (before work) with 4 jakes and 4 hens. No toms.

Closed on this tom Friday morning. Been having encounters with him the day before, but he wouldn't come out from the other side of the buck thorn and no shot available in that thick nasty stuff. I saw no other birds Thursday. Friday morning, he was hammering on the roost and he was alone (Just like the previous night).  He came into the open this time and I got him clean at 30 yards. He was in turkey heaven before the sun ever hit the field! 22 lbs, 9' beard, 3/4' spurs. Had to try field edge tactics with dekes, since walking in all that snow made running and gunning pretty exhausting. I set up between where he came out and saw my deke placement (3 hens and a jake) He had been gobbling, but didn't care for the spread and was leaving once he saw it.

Shot a nice tom Saturday night in zone 1. Birds were still grouped up real bad. Saw 12 toms and 30 hens that night.

Zone 1. Scored on a jake at 7:20 this morning. There were a lot of other birds in the area but I wasn’t gonna turn down a guaranteed batch of turkey nuggets. Glad to get one on the last day.

It’s been slow for me so far in Zone 1, but my dad and a neighbor both scored nice birds yesterday morning. Guess I shoulda been hunting instead of heading to he brewer game. Ah well.

Zone 2 Sunday morning lots of active birds. This one was 24.7 pounds with 10" whiskers. I froze it whole and I am looking for a good taxidermist around Ozaukee county or surrounding area. My bird guy stopped doing them. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I'll try to post some better pictures tomorrow...
