I’d like to be able get my dad out to fish the perch bite, but he’s a lot less mobile than last year. What’s the easiest landing to get an old guy in and out of the boat this time of year? In warmer weather, the landing at Vet’s freedom park off Clinton St worked well—the railing intended for getting in and out of a kayak there was perfect. Is that likely to be in place next week? If not, where else could we try?
Carter to answer your question, the warm weather last week opened up the main channel pretty well to the point that I actually was open water fishing down in Genoa. The cold weather the last few days should help lock it up, but it's definitely not going to be icing up to the extent it did last year.
