Ice is Spongy!!!

The amount of shoves is very unusual for this time of year. Not sure the reason for it, but it’s definitely affecting the quality of the ice 

As stated in the previous reports use extreme caution out here this weekend.
Some bad spot are marked but with this weather the ice will change daily.
The bite was great today everything for us came on gold with minnow head. Looked like everyone was getting some action.
Lost a master force jump starter out there today if anyone happened to find it I left my # at Noffkees.

Thank you Coleburber,and to add to that there is many spots of open water again, especially the north shore areas. The ice is cracking and shifting quite a bit causing some cracks to have 2’ - 3’ areas of open water. Some of the old spots of open water opened back up. Also heard of a UTV or ATV going thru off by old Duck Inn area. Please use extreme caution! North shore you can only get out about 3-400 yards and that’s it. You can’t get across at all due to open water and large cracks..

Everyone please use extreme caution if you plan on fishing lake Poygan the next couple weeks. The warm weather/ rain will melt the top layer and camouflage the open water pockets. If you are not an experienced ice fisherman or with someone that is, i would suggest staying off of lake Poygan with machines. Good luck to everyone fishing the party this weekend and be safe!

As of this morning there is open water on poygan! It is located just south of the horse shoe. It is quite large and easy to see. Yes there is a lot of fisherman and atv traffic. Use cation! North side of lake is cracking up some but it makes it easier to see where the fresh thin ice is. Be extremely cautious please. The ice is moving a lot and opening and closing cracks are common. Yesterday drone footage is no longer accurate!

Has anyone been off of Captains Cove yet? I'm thinking about giving it a try Monday.
