When i was catfishing i had two women on a surf board come so close i had to reel my lines in, but that's the way it is fishing down there.
Good average size on the cats i get out of Como.

Friday evening for bikinis and bass at the beach and it was ok but the action wasn't hot.
Saturday evening catfishing for the first time this year, ended up with two catfish and two dandy largemouth on cut bait.
Caught the first catfish on my ultralight trying to catch bait which took what felt like on hour. So actually I caught more bass on cut bait than catfish.
I've had problems before with mostly little pike eating the cut bait, I don't like catching them that way because most of them get hooked deep. I think i need to fish for the cats at night but i don't feel like going fishing at 9pm.

About three weeks ago my granddaughter and I got a rash on our legs and don't know if it was swimmers itch from the Lake or poison ivy from the backyard got we decided to take a brake from going in the water for a couple weeks. Went for a boat ride yesterday and tried for bluegills in a couple spots with no luck.
Came back to the beach after dinner and I finally caught a whitebass at the beach so they should be there the rest of the summer but it's not Wolf river Freemont lol. For the Bass fishermen out there the places i would fish in a boat right now is around docks on the north shore or cabbage weed on either end of the lake.
Had a young couple on inflatable kayaks just about run me over while i was fishing at the beach, they had a hard time grasping the concept of padding on both sides, I could have stuck my rod tip in the guys ear.

Here is my report from Memorial Day, sorry for the late report i know how popular my Lake Como fishing reports are lmao.
Went down to the launch 3pm on a holiday and pulled up and launched no waiting.
It was my first Bass fishing outing of the year and i only ended up with two legal fish which was a little bit of a disappointment. It was more evident this weekend that my boat just isn't the best boat for Lake Como and last night put on sale here on Lake-Link.
Lake Como isn't the fisheries Lake Geneva and Delavan are but i like my peaceful lake and i still have a chance for a 5lb largemouth or a 36" pike.

Went fishing in the boat yesterday here is my report.
Bluegill-Poor, Northern Pike-Poor, Bass-Good, Carp-Excellent.
Since everyone that fishes here in the summer pretty much bass fishes here is a little more on that.
I got a post spawn summer vibe being in the boat today, i can't see beds but weed grown is really starting to take off giving the lake a summer feel.
Now that the weeds are growing and getting chopped up you can forget anything with a treble hook in your tackle box and spinner baits and chatter baits ain't a great option either because of all the little chunks of weeds floating around that will slide down your line to your bait.
This will be my forth summer living here and I wade with water shoes fishing the shoreline and haven't seen a crayfish yet.
From now until labor day a purple plastic worm will out fish any other bait in your tackle box on Lake Como.

Went fishing Monday evening from shore, ended up with four bluegill, a 10" bass, a tiny white bass and a carp.
The carp was fun on the ultralight didn't get a look at him for a while and thought i might have a big bass on but it would have jump after a little bit.
But I've been going down there a couple times a week looking for those little gills for a fish fry and haven't been able to catch them yet, the good news is I caught four so they must be starting to come to the shoreline.
I can't say if the bass are beds or not because the water clarity is poor and it makes it hard to see any beds but i was wading with water shoes and the water felt a little cold.
Those bluegill are a pretty good indicator for me that the shoreline fishing is picking up and once they come in they pretty much stay all summer and the bass do too.
