Temp was 38.5 Wednesday (yesterday) Flow was ok. Quarter ounce hair jig down river was perfect in 12 feet or less. Upriver needed 3/8s in deeper water.
Fish came in spurts for me. All females except one. With the ugly cross wind a lot of guys were spot locked on the break up river so slipping was difficult. Spotting up and bouncing a jig with the current worked well under those conditions.

Khmerfisherman40, old pic here. I used to take my kids out of school, with permission, and take them tossing little cleos.. we'd catch ALOT of them mid May, weather/water temp is everything.
Pic is 17" white bass, biggest I've ever measured. Youngest hooked into a 20+ lb flathead the next day. It took that ultralight pole and broke it all too H---. Good times, decades ago. We both laughed like heck, what a big head, big fish, it was chaos, it was unforgettable too.
FYI, she used this pic on her wedding day when showing pics of her younger years on the big screen. It's a memory lasting experience for all.

This was from our second day fishing the Fox. It was very windy and we were glad we had our heavy anchor! We spent most of the day fishing jig/minnows from the Donkey Hut on the sand flats in 6-8 feet of water. We usually fish blades or plastics, but sometimes you have to adapt to what the fish want, and on that day they wanted the minnow! We also spent a little time casting cranks up by the dam. We were still a little early for that, but we did catch a couple.
