     Later in the regs  in the "General Inland Waters "Open Season ,Length and Bag Limits " section starting on page 70.,,, ...Page 73 ..also states in "MOST inland  waters "  Walleye Sauger and hybrids :  3 .

There are many sections in the new regs that state specific higher or lower  variations ,and differences ,such as state boundary waters ,tributaries, great lakes and others etc ,but I don't see any variance from the new limit of 3 that would apply for Columbia, Sauk ,Wisconsin River, Dells or Lake Wisconsin.

OK so now figure THIS out!!!!... The last cover page states:
 Quote :
" The new rule does not affect the total daily bag limit for walleyes and sauger ( 5 in total per day from all waters fished that day) nor the possesion limit (10 in total ) "  

Anyone care to translate ?  So what is it ... 3 or 5 ???????

That does certainly look like some kind of mistake.  If so, I hope they haven't printed too many regulation booklets already.

Thank you for the notice, but in typical DNR fashion look at page 17, it states the combined limit for walleye and sauger is 5?!?

April 1 2024  : New Wisconsin STATEWIDE Walleye/Sauger  combined bag limit reduced to 3.

This INCLUDES Wisconsin River, SAUK County ,DELLS and LAKE WISCONSIN.

Size/Slots remain the same for these waters in Columbia and Sauk.

Walleye Beat down in Dells town!!
Brandon and BJ joined me in the boat today. We landed roughly 40 walleye and sauger. 2 slots and 15 legals.   Only 2 of the legals we kept were female. Fish were shallow in 2-6 FOW. Slack water pockets adjacent to heavy current is where we found the majority of active fish. No color preference on jigs.  We caught a few on plastics but most on minnows. We also caught a few floating a minnow under a bobber in the slack water.
Water temp started at 36 and ended at 41.
We all took home a limit for a fish fry.
Would also like to respond to 1_more_casts comments on guides not helping out a stranded boater.  It is sad that nobody helped the boat having motor issues.  Its unfortunate that this has to be pointed out, but we cannot help if we never seen the boat having issues to begin with. We are not all seeing god's...

Late report, fished Saturday , it was very slow. Fished current seems, caught a few. Didn’t really see many fish being caught either. A lot of people along current seems and drop offs.

Late report from Saturday 3/2 8a-1p from shore. 23 eyes and saugers most right there at 14" with 3 being over 15" kept 2 males milting and put the 19" female back. All in all a tough bite considering the great weather.  Good luck out there

Congrats! I can see where I I tried from shore on Friday evening in the background lol. No luck for me, just out to wet a line after my daughter's volleyball team was done for the day. 

Late report from Friday March 1. Fished with Jim starting at 0730 ending at 5pm. Slow bite overall, ended up with 14 walleye/sauger mix. Most short fish, with one 21 3/4 slot . Most of the fish caught on 1/8 jig and minnow downstream from rivers edge. Saw a few slot fish caught by the dam. River is low water temp 35 at start, 37.5 end.

Slow for me. Boated 13 walleye/sauger. No legals(wasn't gonna keep any anyhow) gonna be windy tomorrow but I'll be out there.
