Drove through Devils Lake on way to Baraboo today (3/3/23), saw a guy out from boat launch, another a ways out from south parking lot, and at least 4 or 5 all the way out by houses. Didn't see any atv's, looks like they all walked out. There was an area taped off where there is a little pocket of open water, I know that spot is always iffy, I think there is a spring there.

Best place I have ever fished burbot is Lake Winnebago Feb 3-10 on the reefs, not sure if Devils lake is the place to go.

Went out a few nights ago trying to target burbot based on a tip. Saw a few fish cruising a few feet off the bottom in 14-20 FOW (perch/trout maybe?), but no takers. Does anyone have tips on how deep the burbot are? I've heard that they're nocturnal and come up shallow to feed at night. Any advice would be much appreciated as I'm trying to check them off my bucket list.
