Went out fishing Saturday, had lots of fun, great day to be out.
Have had great success past 2 wks putting others on fish. The walleyes are moving into the river from the lake. Bite has steady picked up, jig and minnow worked best.

Water temp was 38- 39. The females were still with belly’s hard and the males were squirting. Lots of people out and DNR was on the move checking people. Sherif was out giving tickets at the launch parking.

Keith and Andy joined me on this wonderful Saturday, we jigged plastic, minnows used some hard baits.  Water temp was 39.8 and real didn’t move at all today. The fish were not overly motivated to eat but we plugged away at it today. Ended the day with 14 legals the guys keep there 6 and no slots with a ton of shorts and 1 nice small jaws

Water flows have slowed a little since yesterday and even a bit more throughout the day. Still at about summer levels and slightly faster. Water dropped about 6 inches during the day today. One gate was wide open this morning and was closed very slightly by night fall. Water temps are 37-38 degrees. Not much for debris floating down and water clarity is about a foot.

Fished during the day with a couple friends. The morning was good. We landed a 4-5 slots and about 15 legals with 5 that were kept. Lots of shorts. Mix of plastics, live bait, hair jigs, and stick baits. We fished from below Plank Hill up to the dam.

Tonight Sean and I worked from the pipeline up to the dam. It was slow until dark. We landed a handful of legals and one slot tonight. Mainly all on small stick baits in very shallow water.

I'm out for a couple days to go play over on Green Bay!

Question: I was up to Nekoosa and tried to fish from shore by the park on May 12, but low water conditions and no current sent me home early that day.
Just wondering, with all this rain, have conditions improved that there is some water flow coming out of dam.
I have a 2 hour ride to get up there, and don't want to waist gas and time driving up, only to turn around and head home.
Thanks in advance for any info from fellow Lake-Linkers.
Good luck to everyone this fishing season.

Clients for today pushed their trip off for now because of the weather so Kreger Outdoors - Fishing Guide and I went out to see how this snow affected the bite.

Water temps are sitting around 37-38 degrees and the water is coming up very slowly from a couple days ago. We fished from the pipeline up to the dam today from 10:30 to 4 this afternoon. It was a pretty decent bite considering the weather. I'm not ashamed to say it but, I think Steve Kreger caught a few more fish than me today in my boat! We landed 13 legals and 11 slot fish and about 15 shorts. Everything was released today. A variety of plastics, minnows, jerk baits, and rippin raps all caught fish today. Headed back out in the morning for double header trips!

Fished yesterday with a great father and son team from southern Wisconsin! Guys took a break from Fishing Castlerock and wanted to learn some new areas and locations to fish. Water temperature yesterday was 40 degrees just about the entire trip. Once the rain/snow started water temperature started to drop! Yesterday we caught all our fish in many sections of the  river, over rocks and mud areas in 4-8 fow everything yesterday was  on 1/4 oz hair jigs tipped with mud minnows.
For everyone calling and asking about where we have been getting mud minnows “Joe” At the Bighorn store has mud minnows.

Anyone looking to book a trip,Next week April 10th,11th,12th are available

Good luck be safe

Let’s go fishing!
