Join me on a thrilling afternoon hike where the streams whisper and the brown trout beckon. I’m putting the age-old angler’s debate to the ultimate test: Will a fluorocarbon leader tied to my trusty braid outperform the classic braided line? Armed with my Rapala Ultra Light Minnow, I’m on a quest to reel in the big one. Dive into the action, feel the tension of the line, and discover if this savvy setup can truly tip the scales in my favor.

With the sun as my compass, I embarked on an adventure—a fishing escapade that defied the ordinary. My gear, neatly stowed in the truck, whispered promises of piscine encounters. But this was no mere angling trip; it was a voyage into mystery. Pedaling my bike toward an uncharted stretch of river, I reveled in the warmth of the day. And there, amidst the rustling leaves and shimmering water, I discovered not only fish but also the magic of the unknown.

The bite was a bit tougher this weekend, but I still managed to hook into two trout, and one of them was massive. Both hit spinners. They weren't biting beads or spawn. Maybe the storms on Monday will help push more into the rivers.

Not my intended quarry, but still fun. Water temps consistently in the 40s. Most of the tribs are low and gin clear. Not seeing a lot. Hoping this rain moves some fish.

Catching trout with spinners and jerkbaits involves using two effective techniques to entice these elusive fish. Spinners are flashy lures with rotating blades that mimic small fish or insects. Anglers cast them out and retrieve them, creating vibrations and flashes that attract trout. On the other hand, jerkbaits imitate injured baitfish. By twitching the rod tip, anglers erratically make the jerkbait dart, triggering trout strikes. Whether you prefer the spinners’ spin or the jerkbaits erratic movement, both methods can lead to exciting trout catches!

The Trout are in the Tributaries. I wonder if the cold will shut down the bite today, but they were biting spawn sacs and spinners on Sunday in the Milwaukee River.

At Bologna Creek, imagine two massive beaver dams—crafted by nature’s architects—standing strong against the current. Suddenly, the water comes alive with a big brown trout. They glide gracefully, their silver bodies cutting through the liquid canvas. These ancient fish hold secrets as old as time. I cast my line, a delicate connection to the underwater mysteries. The trout inspects my bait. Then, in a splashy crescendo, the battle begins. Mortal versus aquatic deity! Finally, I triumphantly cradle a bronze behemoth in my hands. Its scales shimmer like sun-kissed copper, reflecting the entire universe.

I had a blast at the stream today! It was a typical Slayermike escapade, with lots of fun and excitement. I reeled in a bunch of trout using my homemade spinner and braved the cold February rain to fish some more. I also tried my luck at gold-panning and felt awesome every time I caught a fish with my invention. That's the best feeling ever!

As the temperatures have risen, the fish still hold the same patterns as they would in any other winter, In deep pools all schooled up. In my neck of the woods, finding that window of opportunity when the fish are feeding. You could almost step on them some days, and other days they scatter at the slightest movement, This is the second Tiger Trout that I have caught, the first one was back in 2019
