Located just half a mile east of downtown Lemont, the entrance to the quarry is at the end of Pruxne Street, which can be accessed from Talcott Avenue or Main Street. The Main Street entrance is right across from Turnabout Pizza, over the railroad tracks, then turn right. Following the road, you will cross another set of tracks, and just past the tracks, the first entrance is to the east. This area has plenty of parking and the welcoming pavilion is located at the end of the parking lot. The walking trail is also accessible from there.Consumers Quarry and Great Lakes Quarry. Consumers Quarry does not offer trailered boat access; Great Lakes Quarry does and covers 41.1 acres, has a shoreline length 2.5 miles, a watershed of 106 acres, a maximum depth reported at 45 feet, and an average depth reported at approximately 15 feet. There is a single, gravel boat ramp on the west end of the lake and a carry-in access in the east end. No concessions, boat rental, live bait/tackle shop are available on premises. Portable toilets are located throughout the property.
There are No fish cleaning facilities on the property. Bluegill, Redear or Hybrid sunfish ? 15 fish daily creel limit, no size limit.

Black or White crappie ? 15 fish daily creel limit, no size limit.

Largemouth Bass ? 3 fish daily creel limit, 14" minimum length limit.

History & Status of the Fishery
There is very little information available regarding past stocking of the system. The fishery in Great Lakes Quarry has been surveyed twice in the recent past:once in 2013 and in 2018. Very little fisheries or habitat management has occurred in the system. The Village of Lemont entered into a Cooperative Management Agreement with the IDNR Division of Fisheries in 2018. Size and catch limits were implemented April 1, 2019.
