GOOD. Water lightly stained; 50 degrees; 2.21 feet below pool. Reeling the new year with consistent fishing patterns. Some bass are suspended at the dam in 15-20 feet of water. Catching the occasional fish on a squarebill crankbait on boat ramps. Jigs and creature baits, working well on concrete and rock in deeper locations. Deepwater rock piles, brush piles and ledges using jerkbaits, swimbaits, Carolina rigs and Alabama rigs. When targeting sand bass a thumper to attract them to your boat is a must. Look for fish on the deepwater humps or 25-30 feet on main lake points. Deadsticking small flukes or 1 ounce slabs if they’re active. You could get lucky and limit quickly, but they are moving a lot right now in open water. Crappie are on brush piles and condos in 20-30 feet biting minnows and jigs. Boat positioning and getting your bait or lure near them is very important. Catfish are in 20-30 feet of water in the bays. Cut shad on a santee rig or Carolina rig is great and will fill the freezer. Report by Carey Thorn, White Bass Fishing Texas.

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 62 degrees; 3.27 feet below pool. White bass are in 20-30 feet of water around main lake points and humps using 1 ounce slabs. Crappie are in 25-30 feet of water on condos and deep water brush piles, but can be found in 15-20 feet deep on timber and brush. Jigs, hand ties and minnows are working great. A few big black bass can be found hanging out in the treetops 15-20 feet. Do not overlook rock piles, any kind of concrete and brush piles in 15-20 feet using swimbaits, Alabama rigs, Carolina rigs, and spoons. Catfish are in 27-29 feet of water using fresh cut Shad Santee rigged on a 30 pound line with a 50 pound shock leader. Find a nice boxfish and kickers in those depths out in front of the Power House. Bait fish can be found in 1-4 feet of water in the back of small coves, and along shallow flats. Report by Carey Thorn, White Bass Fishing Texas.

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 62 degrees; 3.27 feet below pool. White bass are good in 20-25 feet of water on main lake points and humps with chartreuse 1 ounce lead slabs with a crappie jig 1/16 ounce tied on a looped knot 2 feet above your slab, or paddle tail swimbait. Bluegill are slow to nonexistent. Catfish can be caught in 10-25 of water drifting cut shad, sunfish, or drum. There are numbers of eater size fish in 17-25 feet of water with the larger catfish roaming. Black bass are good on swimbaits and Alabama rigs over brush piles. Crappie are in 15-25 feet of water in brush with minnows but jigs are out producing. Color does not seem to matter as long as you put it in their face and lift. Happy Thanksgiving! Catfish can be caught in 10-25 of water drifting cut shad, sunfish, or drum. There are numbers of eater size fish in 17-25 feet of water with the larger catfish roaming. Black bass are good on rocks, brush and boulder piles in 3-25 feet of water using a chatterbait, white and chartreuse, spinnerbait, sexy shad 3-6 foot diver, 12 foot sexy Shad series 5, motor oil zoom worm, lake, fork, hyper freak, watermelon red and watermelon green, lake fork paddle tail in the same colors. Crappie are in 15-25 feet of water in brush with minnows but jigs are out producing. Color does not seem to matter as long as you put it in their face and lift. GOOD. Water lightly stained; 84-86 degrees; 5.63 feet below pool. White bass pushed shallow during the cold front but have moved deeper to 10-20 feet of water after the weather warmed. Check both locations as fish may be in either area. Bluegill, or sunfish, are on most brush piles in 15 feet of water using a tiny hook on a two pound line baited with pieces of bacon, or earthworms. Leave a piece of bacon sitting outside until it hardens, cut a small piece that is about half the size of your pinky nail to put that on the hook. The Cartlidge and fat on the bacon stays on that Hook way better than an earthworm. Do not be baffled by catching a big crappie on a little teeny piece of worm either. Crappie are on brush piles in 10-25 feet of water, with most catches in 17-20 feet. Jigs are outproducing minnows. Catfish are great on baited holes, or cast into flowing water using shrimp, chicken, liver, cut bait, but punch bait seems to work the best. In 10-25 feet of water use cut shad on a Santee rig, and drag the bottom. Black Bass are biting chatterbait, white and chartreuse spinnerbait, sexy shad, and lake fork paddle tail same colors. Fish are shallow in the morning, and the evening bite is outstanding as well. Throughout the day bass are in 10-15 feet of water on submerged boat ramps, riprap, and rock piles.. Report by Carey Thorn, White Bass Fishing Texas.
