IMHO best time to fish for walleyes is April. Who knows what would carry this year though. I am not an expert by any means but right now fishing has been slow still there are plenty fish to be caught if you are willing to put some time on the water. My best presentations and most consistent ones are jig/minnow and blade baits but jig/plastic and hair jigs are the second ones. Evening bite, try #9 HJ or P10 shallow. That's all you need. Find shallow flats adjacent to the channel or fish the channel itself and you will catch fish.
Good luck!

First time fishing up here in De Pere, for me, in about 25 years, which matched the wind (25mph) that I had to deal with that day.  Tough early season conditions for sure!

Hey all.
Planning a fishing trip for my dad to celebrate his birthday sometime march or april. If anyone could point me to which dates would be best/what lures to use I would very much appreciate that.

It's weird out there. No flow. Low water. So early.

Drove over the bridge / dam today... There were a few boats out, but the main thing I saw were low water levels exposing concrete and other rocks between the dam and powerlines.  It looked like little real current out of the dam.

To answer turbidity of 7 or 8 means some color in the river. Over 10 and visibility is really reduced. 20 stay home. Super clear at 5 and under.  In my experience it's a real good indicator.

You can/should be able to look back both past 30 days and past 1 year on waterdatas website

I would appreciate anyone's opinion on the flow and turbidity charts.  I'm comfortable using them but usually look back at previous days and make a guess.  Whould anyone share their opinion on "roughly" how the turbidity matches the scale?  For example what # is clear, dirty, and chocolate milk (stay home).  Thanks in advance for those share.
