Went out yesterday 3/19. Walked out from County Park, ice had a top layer of 2-4" of hard packed snow followed by 1" of ice little bit of slush and 12"+ of ice. I couldn't get shack anchors past the slush and instead settled to anchor in the 1" of ice just under the top layer snow. Started slow in 8 fow, didn't see anything and moved to 15 fow where we spent 4 hours catching 20-30 Crappies between 2 guys, some decent sized some smaller that were released. We ended up taking a few home for a meal for our efforts. Didn't see any trucks on the ice but there were some sleds and 4 wheelers.

Out right now.  Fishing is slow.  Still lots of ice 16-18”.

Edited to add:  small amount of packed snow travel by foot is not bad. 

Any crappie bite thru the ice 

Anyone been out lately or seen people out? Curious on current ice conditions overall. Last time I went out was 4 weeks ago. Thanks in advance!

Lots of folks by O bridge north side yesterday.  A few trucks on ice yet too.  Did not get a chance to stop though.   

Truthfully I didn't measure, over 12" but not sure exactly.

The snow is manageable, but there are areas of slush. We witnessed some truck travel this past weekend.

Anyone have a report on travel conditions on the ice with all the snow?
