Big Eau Pleine

Anyone got anything on the ice I'm not expecting much last two weeks people been driving on lake Wausau I don't know about this weekend. But might head to big EP Sunday wondering if there's any good ice around the park and towards the middle of the lake.

I was out on ​Saturday the 20th fishing out of ​the ​county park's ​south unit... lots of pickups parked off the ramp on the shore and saw at least 6 pickups driving the shore west. ​Ice was a pretty consistent 8-9" where I was fishing but ​a mix of cloudy/black ice. Also saw a 2-3 foot ice heave SE of the park

Are they driving the shorelines with the water being down?

My dad (Slowoody) was there and asked me to post this- lots of open water yet- not what he wanted to see but….
He asked me to post a video but it’s not letting me- but open water at oxbow today.

The lake is opening up today, will be while before fishing again!

Made it to Lisa’s Landing yesterday morning with my dad and father in law.  About 3 1/2 - 4” of ice- we stayed close to shore. I’m 230lbs so I went slow!!
Fishing- was marking fish- mainly on bottom but fish (crappies I’m assuming) at 10’ at times. Bite was slow- tried everything I had but not many takers- one crappie and one tiny walleye.
Still didn’t go through and it was nice out.

Fished on Friday about 600 yards from George's. Had anywhere from 4 3/4 down to around 2 closer to channel. With that being said, it's 430 in the morning and 47 degrees out right now. I was planning on heading out this morning, but I believe it's a touch sketchy for a solo trip. Hopefully this is the last of this weather.
