Ok I realize the thoughts of wearing waders on marginal or thin ice is stupid. But I am going up to Lake Winnibigoshish this coming weekend and with all the snow they have had, after drilling holes we maybe in 3-4 inches of standing water. My regular ice fishing boots are only rubberized about 3 inches up. I am not worried about falling through the ice on 25-30 inches of ice. Is this viable or stupid. Should I just fork over 100+ bucks on a good set of boots. Ok tell me I'm stupid.s

Conditions on Winni.  We will be accessing on plowed roads with strict orders not to drill on or near roads. Winni currently has 30-40 inches of snow pushing down on the ice. So water will pour out when we drill. . Current forcast 21 degrees on Friday. 31 degrees on Saturday ( highs)  I'll be fishing out of a small hub so no floor
