Me and my family are planning to make a trip up to Lac Vieux Desert for the first time and we were wondering what is the usual date that the ice is thick enough to fish through? We haven't decided on an exact date but it will most likely be around December 20-31. We hope to ice fish and were wondering if the lake would be frozen by these dates? Thanks in Advance!

It will more than likely be good we always go to sunrise Lodge the 11 to the 14. Last 3 years we brought 4 wheelers and snowmobiles out there.  Talked to sunrise Lodge they have an inch of ice as of yesterday so should be good in 3 weeks.
