Are you still ice fishing?

Man, still a lot of ice out there. Cold weather just planted over us the whole month of March up here. I still have a few trips left in me. How about you?

not a dream a nitemare

Had a dream about ice fishing last night. No kidding. In my dream, there were over 15 people on a quiet lake that I usually have to myself. Not cool. So, guess I'm still ice fishing, in my dreams. 

It sure felt like ice fishing.  I've been warmer in February.

Only for cubes in the bottom of the ice bucket when its been on the bar for a few hours.

Last trip was I believe March 26th this year and that was south of hwy 29 on 3". 

7 more months and it will be November 10 and I'll be checking the 30 day forecast! Ha ha. Bring on the ice. There is a bit of wind blown ice in a bay at Little Saint. With the cold temps tonight....we'll... Nah! But, tempting. 

Only if you count the ice in my sippy cup!

Our shoreline faces SW as well and there was no way I was getting on the ice this past weekend.   This is in northern Oneida County.  Ice was getting really dark and punky looking.  I spent my Saturday putting the winter toys away and getting the summer ones ready for action.

Our shoreline faces southwest and there was no good way to get on the ice that way, maybe a 20 ft plank. Anyway with kids taggin along I wasnt going to risk fishing past weekend. Done til May, maybe try for crappies in late april if the time is right.
