Has anyone ever caught a Jack Crevalle?  What a great battle!  Your arms ache afterwards!

My BIL and I were fishing out of Key West a couple of weeks ago. We fished in waters 50-295 ft deep.  While we didn't catch any Jack Crevalle, we did catch some really nice Amberjack, large Permit, large Mutton Snapper, and even a Grouper (which took my BIL for a ride).  The large Amberjack and Mutton Snapper came from very deep water, 250 to 295 ft deep.  They fought harder than the 40+ lb muskies I have caught.  No comparison.

Good job nihsif!   I caught it in a fresh water retention pond.  I wouldn’t eat anything I catch out of it, but has a large variety of species in it.  I guess those Tilapias are vegetarians.  We have 4 big Gators in the pond too!
