Who's got one ? what are you growing ? and how's it coming along? Mine consists of sweet corn , cabbage , brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli ,cucumbers, zucchini, peas, tomatoes , peppers , acorn squash, pumpkins, and assorted spices. The cold wet weather hasn't been very conducive to good growth so far for me. But with warmer weather in the forecast things should turn out. I hope those of you growing fair better.

Junkie I would still try to use some screen door screen to try to stop the car from washing away. I know it’s on a slope, but still, I think it would slow down as long as that screen is far enough past the roll. It’s the only thing I ever found work carrots. Placing a board on them you have to be too quick to pull it off and let it get sunlight and then when it starts raining, they can get washed away so I just keep the screen on for the first month and a half.
What about No-Mow May?? I use that as a reason to procrastinate on cutting, but my lawn is still no where near needing to be cut. I don't have any asparagus either, other than the one warm week it's really only been in the 50s-60s and 40s at night on average. My parents in GB area have been getting bucket fulls of asparagus for 2 weeks now. Their asparagus patch is my dream someday.
Spinach, kale, lettuce, peas are all starting to pop through in the garden. I have some carrots sprouting, but they are about 2' away from where I planted them. My garden is at a very light slope and with the tsunami we got after planting, they mostly washed away so I'll be replanting those. I'm going to harden off some cherry tomatoes this week and get those in the ground, they seem to be more hardy than other tomato strains and if they don't make it, they grow fast enough I can always replant and not be too far behind.

Got all my potatoes planted yesterday. 3 varieties in 3 grow bags with side doors on them for easy access. Some carrots have emerged. Onions are finally starting to look alive though the seed ones are still tiny. Garlic doing great. Pictured is the garlic from Friday before any rain and some of the onions. The huge one is a second year in the ground bulb.
Stuffs growing great! Every garlic clove sprouted and is 12 to 15 inch high. Leeks are over 2 ft high! I plant garlic every year, but leeks every 2 years, harvest half the first year and let the rest stay for year 2. I used to try various things to make harvested leeks last longer, but it was pointless. Now I just stick them in a drawer in a downstairs fridge with no bag. They last 7 months no problem. Pictured is one I used for cooking breakfast today. The wife and I like them chopped up in our morning omelet, along with peppers, bacon bits and melted cheese. And we love potato leek soup. Of course, by this time of the year, you will have to peel off 3 or 4 dried outer layers
Stumbled across this the other day while traveling down a rabbit hole lolHomemade strawberry fertilizer
I think it's safe to say we officially made it a full year without buying any vegetables. We usually eat out once a week but otherwise have had veggies from last year's garden just about every day. Just in time to start it all over again!
First goal was transitioning to organic, then to heirloom, and then self sufficient veggies. Next goal will be self sufficient meat.

Planted the 8x8 garden annex a couple weeks ago. Built a temporary greenhouse over it to protect against early frost. Only had to have the heater on in there twice. Stuffs growing great. On a 57 degree day, it was 91 degrees in the greenhouse. Just from sun warmth. Really stimulates the plants at that temperature. Moved the transplants out into the shed to toughen up the boys for their trip outside into the elements soon
