Okuma makes a number of reel with hte bait feeder option.  They work very well, and are designed for the guyds that fish rivers.  The shore fisherman love the reels.  They have two drags, the normal drag that we are used to, and a bait feeder drag that does not affect the primary drag.

I personally don't use clickers at all but have seen them used and they seem to work very well.

I've had a few people use them in the boat with me. They seem to work just fine and they have lasted at least a few years or more from what I can tell.
