Minnesota had a CWD special hunt so got in on it. Took this nice deer in January and glad it didn't lose the head gear already. DNR aged it as a two year old and results came back negative. First deer with a gun, normally a bow hunter only. It was fun.

Shame on you for shooting that deer this late in the year. . . . Kidding, honest. Nice buck and nice looking land. Where in Minn. did yo shoot it? Anyway since we now officially started the 2017 deer gun hunt forum I will pipe in by saying most of northern WIs. seems to be adding up to another easy winter, so far anyway. Temps in the high 30's with some rain should pack down the snow some. IN west Price co. there is 8-10" with some small areas in the 8" depth. This should keep deer a bit healthier and without deep snow they are more likely to outrun the wolves. How is it looking in northern WIs., Minn. and " Da U.P.?
