How do you cook fall caught salmon? Are they edible when they black?

Depends what the meat looks like. If it is white or yellow I throw it out. If it is pinkish they still taste good. I always check the fillets before I make a decision, even if the fish looks a little dark.

Edible, yes, technically...palatable, no. Smoke them if you are going to eat them. Personally, I wouldn't feed them to my turtles.
