Hello everyone! I know it is a little far away but the Pre-game has began for this first time turkey hunter. This will be my first ever time turkey hunting and I do not know much, So I got a few topics I would like some help on. Were is the best spot to setup? I will hopefully be hunting in dodge/fon du lac county or Northern Adams county in wisconsin. Describe what I should look for when finding a spot to set the blind. What are good calls to use in the fall? Decoys or no? process the bird in the field or at home? Best times to hunt Thanks for the help and If i think of more questions I will add them. Big Smile

you can hunt the fall but its more of a sit and wait hunt. like deer hunting. turkeys in the fall can be pattern too. basically find where they are feeding sit on it as long as you can. look for scratching at the feeding site. to me turkeys are lot more predictable in the fall vs. spring. the fall they are in there normal routines while spring they will move ranges more looking for hens. in the fall they are a lot more quiet compare to the spring. so in the fall there food and roosting spots are good spots to ambush them. good luck. I wouldn't use any decoys and maybe a basic hen call. but only call if you here them call. if you bust a flock up then wait a little bit and try to call them back to you that can be a good tactic in the fall.

skip the fall and just wait for spring... I promise you will have more fun.
