Here are a couple of my bigger crappies. No idea how long these two were, as both were CPR'd and I didn't have a tape with me for either. The bluegill was also one of the bigger ones I've ever caught, and again after a couple quick pics, he went back in the drink. Caught several tanks that day last July and wasn't going to stick him on my tape that was stuck on the side of my 110 degree boat. My son can't even believe how big it was! There are some truly giant pannies in this thread...glad to see so many were willing to release these fish to spread their genetics! You can show a picture and brag...and pictures are easier to carry around than a mount! Tight lines!

This was years ago, I was in my teens. The ice had just gone out, and I took my 14 footer and went fishing. Grabbed a spinning rod and a few Beetle Spins, and started casting towards shore. There was two overhanging cedar trees about four feet apart. It created a nice pocket to drop my Beetle Spin into. A fish smacked my lure, and I thought sure it was a big bass, but it wasn't, it was a huge crappie. I admired it, and because of what I was already being taught about catch & release, I let it go. I was sorry the minute I dropped her back in, DAMMITT! To this day have never caught one even close to that size.
