Anyone out there know where to get locally made bucktails? I'd rather buy local than pump more money into box stores.(SE WI)

Ask if the maker pays the excise tax on their lures. There is a 10% tax on fishing products that goes towards water and fisheries, if they're not paying it they're cheating us all out of monies to be used to help our resources.

There's some great basement builders around for sure. I've been building my own for sometime now and there's nothing more rewarding than having something built just for you and it turns out to be your go to bait. Muskie first has a great basement builders section with a lot of pictures. I've also heard a lot of great things about gerry. Good luck!

I second Gerrys girls as he is very fast, and makes a great product to your specs. Also recomend the AC-10's and 16's from my friend at GP Thumper tackle out of Hayward but they are harder to get. Decent number of 50's for us on those tails or variations thereof over the past few years. Jason

Thanks guys, I'll have to hit jerry up and check it out. I've made them in the past but I like to see what other people have out there. On a side note wonder why rienke is closed? Hope his health isn't giving way.

Rienkes (spelling?) on 30th and Greenfield in Milwaukee has everything you need to make your own. For 2 bucks you could make a dozen no problem. Come to think about it, I should get over there soon!

There's a few folks on here that make tails...myself included. I'm more in the Green Bay area however.
