To continue from my previous post, here is a picture of another musky my dad caught the next day on Sunday, September 14th. This fish was caught right near 7:10PM. Sunset occurred at 7:09PM on that day where we were at, and the major window occurred from 5:53PM - 7:53PM. We were working a shallow, weedy bay at the end of the day and had a sucker hanging right off the back of the boat, just below the surface to avoid weed fouling. The sucker bolted away from the boat, and as it did that this musky just HAMMERED it.
Here are some pictures of a big fish I caught while up north back on the weekend of September 12, 13, and 14. This fish was caught on Saturday, September 13th, at roughly 5:10 PM, perhaps just a bit earlier. The fish ate the entire Bulldawg about halfway out from the retrieve. Moon underfoot occurred at 5:01 PM that day where we were at. Major window from 5:01PM - 7:01PM. It should be noted that when we worked back over the same area before leaving that day, our sucker that was out behind the boat on a float went nuts two times, bolting up to the surface and darting around twice like that before going back down.
I got an invite to fish one night after work, and boy am I glad I was able to go! I was out with Lee Tauchen , and let me just say we were on fish (as Lee always is). We had a 9 fish night with the two biggest being a 46" and a 48". If your looking for a great guide in the madison, and surrounding area give Lee a call!
