boat covers

Posted this question on boats and motors but this site probably gets more attention. Has anyone found a boat cover that is completely waterproof or one they would recommend for a 17' boat? Most say they are water resistant but in reality they are not.

Lohaus Covers 2768 Gaston Road, Cottage Grove phone 608-839-3902, he is the best, well worth the drive to Madison. He uses snaps that fit tight, along with bows and reinforces the sharp corners with heavy duty flannel. Just Google him, you will find nothing but praise, had my Sylvan done 10+ years ago, still fits like a glove, no movement at all in the heaviest wind. Give him a call.
Impermeable... water can't get in but, if the inside of your boat is wet it takes longer for the covered boat to dry out. Most covers were made with canvas with some water shedding treatment but the fabric could still breathe. Now they can't breathe so little vents must be installed and the material is expensive. Technology marches on.
I had one made out of material they call top gun and according to the guy who made it it is the best material to use.
After using it for 5 years I would agree. Did not have it tied down real good first time I used it and it rained and sunk into the middle of the boat and I had about 40 to 50 gallons of water laying on it but none leaked thru into the boat.
Still does not leak
I had one made at Cindy's Cover It last summer and they do a great job. They put on snaps and add places for tie downs if you want to use them for long trips. It was around $500. You can drop off boat in the morning and pick it up the same day.
