Arrow weight...

Alright guys I need a little help. I just bought a new Mathews Creed and I am looking at getting some new Carbon Express arrows. However I am not to sure what weight to get. I currently shoot a 300 grain arrow but I think I might switch to a 350 to get more speed and performance. What do you guys think?

What is the poundage and draw length of the creed you are shooting? If you tell us that, we can tell you what spine arrow to shoot. Then you find an arrow type with the weight you are looking for. thanks

I am in the heavier arrow camp. It is easier on the bow, quieter to shoot and you get more penetration. Weight is less of a factor than spine so it needs to be set up in the right combination. There a lot of on line discussions of weight that will give you background to get what works. Been talked about for decades.

You have to remember that the arrows go by gr. per inch. So if you have a 29 inch arrow and say a CX Max 350 hunters that are 9.8gr per inch that will only be 284.2gr. Add a head at 100gr, fletching and nock at maybe 10gr you might be shooting around 395gr arrow. Remember when they say it is a 300gr arrow that is if they arrow is a full 32(I think that is the length) inch arrow. I am right around 425gr. with head and everything else as I crown and crest.

You may have made a mistake in your post. If you are are currently using a 300gr. arrow and you switched to a 350gr. arrow, your arrow speeds will decrease. Not knowing what your draw weight is, it is hard to give you a recommendation. Most manufactures require 5gr per pound of draw weight to maintain your warranty. In the field you won't notice much difference between them. Killed plenty of deer with a 350 gr. arrow and now I shoot a 425gr. arrow and results are the same.
