Baileys Harbor/ Door County

Late Report from last week . Launch Ramps at the Old Stone Quarry Park, are open and ready when you are ! Located on County Road B. 6 miles north of Sturgeon Bay . 

Out the past 3 days.  Plernty of fish each day.  For us,  the most productive was from 80-100 FOW on riggers and Dipsy Divers.  Each day was an early bite.  Great time fishing with my grandson.

The maps function on my phone is showing Old Stone Quarry Park as permanently closed. I take it this is incorrect? I’ve been thinking of trying it for the first time next week, launching a boat.

Fished Bailey harbor last night 5.30-9.

East of Cana island in 80-140 fow.
Only had 2 rips, , both around 8.30.

Nephews had fun.

Lots of boats out, mainly south of us.

Which Harbor ? Baileys Harbor or Stone Quarry Launch Ramps Cty Rd. B ? Are you going after Salmon & Trout or Smallmouth Bass ? Check with Charter Captains at the harbor if your going out of Baileys . Look at their Rods ,if they are not put away, and see what their using to fish with ! You can always call Lance at Howies Bait & Archery  in Sturgeon Bay, and get the latest info from him on which direction and depth  he recommends from info he gets from Captains .

Should I go north or south out of harbor?

Musky99 - fishing has been good throughout door co including out of Baileys.  We were there leading up to July 4th - primarily a spoon bite for us, but we did get a few on flasher/fly combos.  We stayed inside of 150' fishing 25' (half core) to 100' down.  Mostly salmon with a few steelhead mixed in.  Colors on spoons varied each day with no one color standing out.

Musky99,    You can listen to the daily fishing report for Door Co. on the radio 93.9 FM, at i believe between 5-6 am and 4 pm . Report is put out by Lance at Howies Bait & Archery in Sturgeon Bay . Or you can google wdor.com/fishing-report/ for the weekly report ! His shop on hwy 57 just south of downtown Sturgeon Bay , has everything you need to fish Door Co. and great advice ! If you want to Fish from shore or if you have a Boat, i always fish from the County Park they call the Old Stone Quarry on County Rd B. that runs on the eastern side of the Ship Canal. I recommend you read my post on July 4th under Washington Island Door Co. on how to fish this spot ! If your staying in Baileys Harbor , the Stone Quarry is almost directly across the Door peninsula from you . Pick up a brochure called Fun Map , which has all the local roads in Door Co. The gas station in downtown Baileys Harbor carries bait and some limited tackle ! If you want to Charter Fish for Salmon , I recommend Silver Streak Charters in Baileys Harbor !
