Took my son and daughter fishing. Target fish - yellow perch. Needed enough for dinner and the fish cooperated. We fished with minnows, red worms and nightcrawlers. We had the best results with the nightcrawlers on a 3/16 jig.

Fishing was great, fishing with my kids - priceless.

I talked with two of our guest last night. One fished the Clements Fishing barge and caught a nice bunch of perch. The other guy fished from his boat below the dam and kept 2 walleye.

A few days late on the report..

Fished last Monday, tues, and half wed. (April 7,8, and 9th)

Perch, not going until late wed as the warm sun started taking affect. Worms in the garden showed signs that the worm bite would start for perch. We tried 1 hour amongst the 20+ other boats (on a Monday? I was surprised) looking for perch and didn't see one boated past the short wall (they were however getting some off of the barge).

Moved on to targeting marble eyes. Monday was tough, ended up boating a few and keeping 1.

Tuesday and Wed were much, much better. Changed presentation. Vertical jigging was not the ticket so we changed up and presto! We took 25 eyes over tues. and half of wed. Those that we saw and spoke with who were vertical jigging, sliding with the current were having the same results we did on Monday, nada, zilch.

As always, a wonderful trip, with a bonus of some cooperative fish.

Fished with Mike yesterday afternoon. The wind was brutal and it was cold. We gave it 4 hours and that's about all our fingers could handle. We did manage to pick up 2 legal walleyes-one on a paddle tail and one on a moxie. Then we called it quits and took the long ride back to the dock against the wind. Still waiting for spring.

2of us fished off the boathouses from 8a-9;30am. Marked no fish, no bites. Shoreline was open, we had to get on the ice off the dock @ the end of the trail coming down from the wayside. Ice is pretty soft. Our last time out.

Joe and his cousin caught most of these out to the west on Monday. He said that will be his last trip out there. There were a few people fishing by the boat houses and they were catching some fish.

There was quite a few people enjoying the weather and fishing by the boat houses on Saturday. I had a couple of good reports and several said it was pretty slow.

Spent the day with Tim and Corbin finding Walleye below the Dam in Genoa. Caught a bunch of walleye and they kept five to take home. Our best success was using 3/8 oz. jigs with chartreuse twister tails and ring worms. Caught a lot of small sauger and put them back to be caught another day. Fishing should get better in weeks to come.
