Lucky Baits in Amery has reds. Also Gander Mt (at least Woodbury did). I took a scouting trip Thursday and walked out on a few lakes. N end of Wapo, one guy had a wheeler out. Of the 4-5 guys out I talked with, they were marking a few fish but no takers. Cedar NE side very similar, also looked like a few snowmobiles had been out earlier. Black Brook a few guys had about 20 tipups out by the dam but no bites. Slow on that day all over but walkable ice. I did not take my wheeler out and didn't fish. It'll be a while before safe truck or car traffic.IMO only.

Just was wondering if and what everyone thought of the colored maggots at vados? Just was wondering if I was a help. Was wondering how the ice conditions were there and how the fishing was?

Ive looked for eurolarvae as well and can not find them. I even called some shops in neighboring towns to see if they have any. NO LOVE!!!!

Must be a shortage of some sort!

Anyone been out on north end? Wondering if anyone is taking 4 wheelers out close to shore yet. PM me if you like. Looking to go in next couple of days. Wondering about ice conditions.

Side note - can't seem to find eurolarvae. Leads?

Rare Sat. trip for me, last open trip of the year with the boat. Ditto last report. Lots of crappies shallow. pink jig under slip with minnow. Pick/sort. I kept about 10, caught probably 30. East shore under 10 ft. was best. Ice fishing should be good!

Nice day on Wapo. Lots of fish of all kinds biting, but size is an issue. Trolled plastics for a while and caught lots of crappie and sunnies. Some sunnies staging and some are nice sized. Most small. Got a couple of foot long walleye. Anchored and jig/crawler for a while. Got several nice perch. Bass everywhere. Muskies and northerns like it when you catch a sunnie. This is the time to bring kids or people who just want to catch fish. Some of the bass pushed 17 or 18 inches. I only fished off the east shore off the camp close to the island.

Fished in the north eastern area on Saturday morning. Caught tons of gills and crappies and a couple bass. Released everything for small size. The longer day light is making the bite a little stronger.

You can get out on the northern part of the lake on the landing by the bar, there are a few paths made by the spot where they have the races and by the first bay. Once you get past that it gets pretty tough out there. Saw a few people that walked out there and had portable shacks though.
