With these warmer temperatures and water levels up . About how long before the white bass start their run ? It takes a little bit of a drive to get here and I simply don't want to waste time. When it gets closer to that time I will start to call the bait shops. I only want to catch about 25 or so for a few meals.
Water: 55°
Surprisingly slow out there today with not as many boats as I expected. Saw a few walleyes caught but very few. We got a 22" and 12", a white bass, and a catfish with fishing south of Chicos from 10:30am-3pm. Expected action to pick up with warm weather this weekend and not yet.
Sunny 65°

Took a trip up to the Wolf and launched at Keisows. water is plenty high to get out of Rat river on to the Wolf. Its a lot less croweded than in town. Beside most of the fish are south of town (post spawn) Did a nice job getting three limits with no small ones. All were between 16-22 inches. Went through almost 3 doz minnows (which Kiesows has) Bit was hard but short , they hit hard holding the minnow tail. Feed bag was on all right. Fish are holding in deep pockets along reed beds. Coler pink, was the hot color. Whiched to a stinger and poicked up last two for limit. Also caught a few on a twister tail and minnow. Allowing jig to fall slower was the key. Possibly a hair jig as well but didnt try that. I would say about one to one and half weeks left to the post spawners. Good luck
Sunny 60°
Water: 46°
Last few days from town to lake has seen rising water temps and a very nice bite. As Toyman said, lots of shorts, but plenty of eating size fish and a good number of spawners. Looks like the vast majority of the mature fish have made their push up, since almost every female the last couple days has been empty. My units showed water temps jumping from mid 30’s middle of last week to mid 40’s last couple days. With the weather upcoming staying above normal, I would think there should be lots of fish heading back over the next few days.
Fished TUESDAY launching in town and working our way down river. (went the wrong way LOL)
Drifting and anchored up a few spots. Very few fish and lots of smaller ones. 1st whitebass
as water temp is 48 deg and rising fast with the warm weather. Could still use more rain!
Still a good day to be on the water! NO BAD DAYS

Fished north of town at zero-dark-thirty and landed a single 19" spawned out female. 3/8oz white jig and a Gulp minnow. Wind started whipping and went for breakfast at the Hotel Fremont. Gave my single female to an older gent at the landing.
Old guy going fishing to Shiocton tomorrow. Anyone want to tag along in my boat?
