Beyer's Cove (Big Green Lake)

If you had any eagles hanging out they may have been the culprits. They can come in and swipe fish so quietly you would never even know they were there. 

Actually the odds are better than you think.    Put a catfish 1-2‘ away from a hole and see what happens,especially if there is water on the ice.

Fished all day here. Very slow on panfish. did get a couple nice ones, but mostly small. It appeared the same for most guys. It was a brutal day for me.
 Tip ups were active with a few legal Northern & LM.
 My buddy caught a 26.5" Northern shortly before dark. After leaving it near the sled, he came over by me to spend the last few minutes of light jigging. When going back to pack up & head home, the Northern was gone, along with every other fisherman. What are the odds a 26" northern could flop its way to a hole and manage to get the leverage to go through the hole? I'd say pretty slim, but what's the alternative?
