Beautiful gill, I have always said best shot at 11 incher would be Mendota or Big Green. Lots of acres and lots of depth seems to be key for Goliath Gills. I want an 11 incher!!! I crave an 11 inch gill more than I do a 8 lb bass and that is saying a lot since I target bass 80% of the time. Not to be rude but I hope you didn't fillet that gill, if it was kept it belongs on a wall, not judging if you ate it though totally your right to do so.

FISHING REPORT

Ice Depth: 10" Conditions: Cloudy
Got on the ice at around 3:30 PM today and stayed til about 5:30.

Had 1 big bluegill and a 2 really nice crappie. Walked away with a total of 3 bluegill, 2 Perch, and 4 Crappie.

Pretty consistent bite throughout the 2 hours and threw a few small fish back as well.

All fish caught on a Black Custom Jigs and Spins "Ratso" as seen in picture 1.

I had 2 tip ups out also with no bites on those.

I'll be back out in the morning for the last time before heading back up to Uw-Stout for school, so if you see some idiot in a white camo coat without an auger trying to chip through old holes feel free to come say hello Tounge Out

Yes there are pike and walleyed there. However most people fish bluegills and move around a lot so tip up cut into their time. If you want pike try the main lake. Bluegill fishing was slow to very slow. Lots of small and I mean small perch. Ice was 10 inches to six in spots. Only a dozen people out sat and few had fish. If you do try pike you will catch a few. Water is clear and only three feet deep use light lines

Was there yesterday afternoon, ice was getting a little scary at dark. Rain is sure wrecking the ice. What kind of jigs you guys using with the plastics? If you go today be very careful, these are the conditions where you can fall through the ice.

Fished 7 - noon today. Kept 24 7.5 - 9" measured. Purple plastic. Lots of little ones. Bigger fish shut off around 11:00. If you catch a solid 10" please post a pic next to a ruler - would like to see what one looks like here

Got a late start this morning, but still managed to get a good meal of gills. Threw everything back that was under 8". Seemed like the bite would go in streaks. Plastics seemed to put the bigger gills on the ice. Talked to a couple guys coming off that had 2 gills over 9" and 2 gills that were a solid 10", plus some of the biggest crappies ive seen in awhile. Was surprised to see it so packed for it being a friday so if anyone plans on fishing here this weekend get here early to get a spot. Ice looked to be about 5-6" but didnt measure.
