Went out of Red River Park on Saturday (4 Feb).  There was 10" of ice in the area I fished.  People were parking on the ice near shore, but it isn't safe for cars and trucks further out.  With the ice conditions preventing fishermen from getting out to the deep-water areas around Sturgeon Bay, Red River can subsequently be very crowded.  The fishing was great but the catching not so much. We were out there 8 hours.  No one I saw was catching fish.  It's possible that all the activity on the ice, over such shallow water, and hundreds of people fishing in a relatively small area, shut down the bite.  All I can recommend is that if you can only go out when it is likely to be crowded, either go out really early (or late) and get as far away from others as you reasonably can.  Good luck and stay safe out there.
